 As mentioned at both the spring and fall General Assemblies, several projects have been identified as major needs for our community. Five of these needs surface repeatedly during conversations, meetings, and through directed donations. In no particular order, they are: Purchase of land adjacent to our existing property Pay off the mortgage on the church building Construction of a new fellowship hall Completion of the iconography in the church Completion of the outer dome The Council believes it is time to start a more formal process toward achieving some of the long-held goals of our community. To that end, the Building for the Future capital campaign was kicked off during the 2011. This is an opportunity for our parish members to pledge additional funds (over and above stewardship) that will be used to complete major projects, as voted on by the stewards of the church. You will find a line on the 2012 Stewardship pledge card where you can designate funds to be used for capital projects. If you would like us to contact you regarding a possible donation for the Building for the Future fund, then please mention it to either Fr. George or any member of the parish council. |
